Walk down the valley, past a house restored by artist Reg Gammon and to see the views painted by David Jones, stopping at the Monastery at Capel y Ffin (Eric Gill) and the Baptist Chapel (Eric Ravilious). The walk will then follow the valley down past the Vision farmhouse to Llanthony Priory where JMW Turner and others painted.

NOTE CHANGE OF START POINT.
The walk will initially follow the route of the railway that killed the canal, looking at the wharfs at Govilon and Llanfoist. Then visit Crawshay Bailey's grave, an iron bridge (the first in Wales) and an inclined plane (used for tram cars carrying limestone down from the quarries). The route back along the canal will pass Bailey's house and the site of a breach in the walls of the canal (an all too frequent event, even now!).

Working with peat, wool, people and possibility.
Artist Pip Woolf has a novel approach to the problem of upland erosion in the mountains, to use a locally abundant, ecologically sound, biodegradable substance................sheep's wool. Working with over 500 volunteers, Pip has laid five, 300 metre long, lines of felted wool across a peat scar on Pen Trumau. This walk, which involves one steep climb, will see the results of the work begun in 2010.
